Stop dabbing!!!

You find different meanings to this word "Dabbing" but the clear and physical definition you find is that: "It is the act of hiding ones head under your left elbow and stretching the other arm." exactly this is what we see them do. But what is the origin of this "Dabbing" ? That's what we really don't know, because you find different views on its origin, Allah knows best.

This Article is not composed to give you the defination or the origin of the act, it is to create awareness and also to remind the Muslim Ummah the fact that Allah Azzawajal clearly warned us not to follow the foot step of Shaytaan;

" and follow not the footsteps of ‘Shaitan’ (Satan). Surely he is to you an open enemy." (surah al-anaam ayah 142)

And also the ruling regarding imitating and following the Kuffar,Jews and other disbelievers, because this is one of the greatest trail which Muslims will face towards the end of the hour, which we are facing already, Subhanallah!

The noble prophet(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: whoever imitate the people is one of them, and he l also said: you will certainly follow d ways of those who came before you hand span by hand span, cubit by cubit, to d extent that if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will enter it too, then He was asked; "O messenger of Allah, do you mean the jews and christains? He replied: Who else? (Recorded by bukhari)

So now, reflecting on this hadith above, it indicates that it is haram to follow d foot steps of the jews and christians and that those who follow them are treading the same path... Also understand that imitating the Jews and Christian here does not really refer to exchanging scientific knowledge or benefiting from their inventions and administrative procedures and so on, which are not contrary to our religion. But what is is disliked here is imitating them in their dress, custom , and manners of social interaction, such as free mixing, hand shakes with non-mahram, Dabbing included...

As Muslims, we are always expected to remain within the guidelines of the Sharia, within the norms and values of islam, which are the QUR'AN and the SUNNAH of Rasulullah sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Most people engage in this act of Dabbin because we feel it is the n-thing without actually caring to know more about it, but as Muslims the Sunnah made emphasis on several occasions that we should always avoid that which we don't have knowledge upon. Meaning we should not engage in anything/ any act of worship unless we know the rights of Allah there in.

So, with regards to the style of picture snaps dabbing, finger signs, and the western terminologies we adopted in our conversations, these are things we need to avoid and stop because don't even have knowledge on them.

On the authority of Abi Ab’dillahi al-Nu’man ibn Basheer (ra) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: “That which is lawful is clear and that which is unlawful is also clear and between the two of them are doubtful matters about which not many people are knowledgeable. Thus, he who avoids these doubtful matters certainly clears himself in regard to his religion and his honor. But who falls into the doubtful matters falls into that which is unlawful (haram)..... [Bukhari and Muslim]

Brothers and sister we really have to be very careful with all that we do and things we say, because Allah Azzawajal is watching and all your actions and deeds are being recorded, and we would be held accountable for it on a day when no excuse will be accepted. Turn to Allah for forgiveness, before it is really too late. Let's take account of our deeds before they are taken account of.

"O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer." (Quran4:1)

O Allah! Keep us steadfast on the deen, make us Muslims bowing to your will and turn unto us in mercy.
